HVAC Senior Technical Adviser

We are looking for a HVAC Senior Technical Adviser, with Liebert and iCom experience, who will be responsible to provide in depth technical support and assistance to the DVL customers, sales, and service associates. The Sr. Technical Advisor reports to the Director of Thermal Services and handles day to day service calls, technical questions, problems, and operational issues facing HVAC technicians, coordinators, local sales associates, and customers. This position is also responsible for generating new business in the Salt Lake City territory including service engagements and maintenance agreements. This position is primarily customer facing and the Senior HVAC Technical Advisor will oftentimes be viewed as the technical expert and key vendor contact by customers. The ability to provide technical competency in oral, written and demonstrative means is paramount.

A relocation package is available if you currently live out of state but meet all qualifications.

A $6,000 sign-on bonus is included in the compensation package if you meet all requirements.


WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Using superior operational understanding of Liebert HVAC systems including air-cooled, water-cooled, glycol-cooled and chilled water systems. Understanding of refrigerant-based and fluid-based economizer solutions as well as microprocessor-based controls is required.
  • Responsible for sales development and promotion of variable speed drive (VSD)/variable frequency drive (VFD) packages, , iCom, iComSand monitoring applications.
  • Visit legacy thermal sites to re-establish a DVL Service Dept. relationship.
  • Identify and pursue iCom upgrades, VSD/VFD upgrades and containment opportunities – this duty includes sales & installation of all provided solutions. Be knowledgeable of Vertiv monitoring solutions and be capable of promoting these solutions to end-user customers.
  • Performs standard start up, commissions & preventative maintenance duties on all Liebert Equipment efficiently and without requiring supervision.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses operation or application problems including replacing compressors, failed parts, on all A/C equipment and direct Company HVAC Technicians and HVAC Technician Assistants on how to assist.
  • Will assist technicians in troubleshooting and diagnosing difficult service problems and find solutions to achieve service goals in the local area.
  • Diagnoses network connectivity issues and works with various vendors and contractors to achieve successful Liebert unit integration with customers building management systems (BMS).
  • Has ability to read, interpret, utilize and train others on mechanical, electrical and control schematics Coordinates with contractors and customers with larger start-up, turn-key cooling and commissioning projects. May direct team of installing contractors.
  • Efficiently completes the turnover of equipment to customer/owner. Responsible to train customers and contractors on use of DVL supplied equipment.
  • Evaluation of customer needs for refrigerant retrofits or equipment replacements.
  • Instrumental in assisting Sales Managers with estimating new customer contracts and analyzing current contracts and working with them to develop best practices, present to customers and quantify how improvements will help their data center environment.
  • Develop and implement scope of work and method of procedure for improving and maintaining energy efficiency in the data center environment. Responsible for ordering parts and maintaining inventory in the office by working with the Coordinator.
  • Works in a safe manner. Follows industry standard safety practices and OSHA guidelines, including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, jobsite safety, electrical equipment, and ladder safety guidelines.
  • Satisfactory complete Liebert training classes as required as well as keeping Liebert certifications current.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • One-year certificate from college or trade school
  • Ten years related Liebert HVAC experience including extensive knowledge of Emerson/Liebert HVAC equipment and controls
  • Three years’ experience in estimating customer Liebert HVAC contracts
  • High proficiency in computer skills and equipment controls technology, including, MS Office, Field Connect/Dispatch, iCom, iComs, instrumentation, and testing equipment
  • 10+ years experience to proficiently solder to braze
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills
  • Available to perform overtime duties
